Additional Performance Optimizations for Oracle Customers

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that it has certified MicroStrategy 8 with Oracle® Database 11g. MicroStrategy’s certification of the latest Oracle Database is part of MicroStrategy’s recent software release, which became generally available in September 2007.
With its certification of Oracle Database 11g, MicroStrategy continues its long-standing commitment to provide a high performance, highly-scalable BI platform. MicroStrategy has developed several query performance optimizations for Oracle Database 11g that are incorporated into MicroStrategy’s very large database (VLDB) driver for Oracle Database 11g. With these optimizations, MicroStrategy generates SQL that leverages Oracle’s query rewrite and materialized view features, uses Oracle’s date-based functions to perform more efficient date-based calculations, and enhances the efficiency of multiple table outer joins.
MicroStrategy customers have some of the largest and most sophisticated business intelligence applications in the world, and MicroStrategy continues to expand its query performance optimizations to meet its customers’ BI requirements. In the OLAP Survey 6, an independent survey compiling the real-world BI experiences of 1,679 organizations, MicroStrategy was a top performer in query performance when compared with its peer group.
