Federal agencies to manage and report more effectively with enhanced configurability and functionality in a fully automated workforce management solution

CHELMSFORD, Mass. (June 29, 2009) – The new administration’s emphasis on transparency and accountability highlighted by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has set unprecedented standards that every federal agency using the stimulus funds, or not, must meet. To help federal agencies address this issue, KronosĀ® Incorporated is adding new functionality to webTA(TM), a software application for automated tracking and management of the federal workforce.
News Facts

* Federal agencies are in a state of flux with tightening budgets and other factors. Accommodating new transparency requirements is an additional challenge. To help agencies meet the demands of the current environment, the latest version of webTA will offer a new architecture that:
o Facilitates rapid responsiveness to current demands by making it easy for users to implement changes in the system. This is possible as webTA is configurable and helps users manage it to suit their unique agency needs without disrupting core functionality or spending time and resources on costly and error-prone custom coding.
o This capability will allow federal agencies to track specific activities at a granular level by easily adjusting pay rules within the system to meet ARRA requirement of reporting activities for which the stimulus money is used.
* Accurate data acquisition and timely reporting through automation of processes will also help agencies enhance productivity. Additionally, webTA is auditable and supports hundreds of complex pay rules, which will help control labor costs and minimize compliance risk.
* Kronos will offer a migration service including solution and training assessments along with the data, configuration, and training specifications required for the transition. Online tutorials will enable more rapid roll-out to the user community at each agency.
* The latest version of webTA is scheduled for availability in August.
* More than 650,000 federal employees currently use Kronos. Federal agencies including the Agency for International Development; Department of Agriculture; Department of Commerce; Department of Homeland Security; Department of Housing and Urban Development; and the Smithsonian Institution use Kronos to automate time, attendance, and leave data entry processes.
