Company cites strong demand for embedded analytics and its innovative utility pricing model as major drivers for strong growth
SAN FRANCISCO (April 09, 2013) – Jaspersoft, the intelligence inside applications and business processes, today announced it has recorded its 100th paid customer on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace, just more than one month after initially launching its offering there. Jaspersoft is the first business intelligence (BI) server with a utility-based pricing model to be launched on the AWS Marketplace. Developers can access the Jaspersoft BI platform in an on-demand manner for as low as 40 cents per hour, as opposed to having to pay significantly higher licensing costs for monthly or annual subscriptions.
According to Jaspersoft, customers have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback on the cost-effectiveness and overall simplicity of its utility pricing model. Being able to pay as they go – and pay only for what they actually use – offers them much greater flexibility to embed BI as the intelligence inside of their applications and business processes. Specifically, customers have touted Jaspersoft’s interactive reporting and HTML5 data analysis and exploration features as particularly useful in streamlining business operations.
Supporting Quotes”Jaspersoft has developed a truly innovative offering with its utility-based pricing model, and it’s been an incredibly effective tool for us over the past month,” said Simon McLean , Managing Director at Click Travel, a cloud app and services company targeting the travel and expense management market. “Beyond the extremely competitive price point, it’s dead simple to manage and provides us with all requisite reporting needs. Simply put, it just works; our end users can easily access the necessary analytics without getting bogged down in tedious report creation.”
“Jaspersoft is disrupting the BI market with utility pricing. By purchasing analytic access on a need-based and on-demand basis, companies could potentially reduce their cost by two-thirds,” said Hyoun Park , Principal Analyst for Nucleus Research in . “Also, Nucleus has found that, on average, cloud projects provide 1.7 times more value than similar on-premises projects. We look forward to tracking the progress of this valuable new offering.”
“We saw a great opportunity to disrupt the industry by launching the first utility-based BI server on the AWS Marketplace,” said Karl Van den Bergh , Jaspersoft Vice President of Product and Alliances. “The rapid traction we’ve seen in just over 30 days is powerful validation for that notion. The rise of cloud-based development, coupled with the rising number of organizations embedding BI as the intelligence inside of larger applications and business processes, has created a perfect storm for this type of model, and we look forward to continued growth on AWS and other cloud marketplaces in the future.”
