InfoWorld Picks Jaspersoft for Leadership in 2009 Open Source Enterprise Software Awards

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 04, 2009) –

Jaspersoft, provider of the world’s most widely used business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that JasperServer Professional has been named the Best of Open Source Enterprise Software in IDG’s 2009 InfoWorld Best of Open Source Software (Bossie) Awards.
InfoWorld’s annual Bossie Awards recognize the best open source products for business, including enterprise software, developer tools, networking software and platforms and middleware. This year, the InfoWorld Test Center identified the top 40 most promising and cost-effective products available to IT organizations. The complete list of Bossie Award winners can be found at http://www.infoworld.com/d/open-source/best-open-source-software-awards-….

InfoWorld Bossie Award reviewer Peter Wayne commented, “I’ve personally made a few clients happy by adding JasperReports to some projects. JasperServer Professional builds on famous Java open source libraries for generating reports, but is no longer for developers only”. Wayne continued, “[Jaspersoft] has rapidly gained on traditional heavyweights and scored with user-friendly query tools and a sophisticated front end.”

Jaspersoft leverages integrated analysis to provide powerful, easy-to-use web-based views of business data. Jaspersoft v3.5, the newest release, brings to market new integrated analysis capabilities as well as the industry’s first software-as-a-service-enabled BI platform. With v3.5, Jaspersoft integrates a complete multi-tenant architecture, enhances user and data scalability, provides easy-to-use integrated analysis that does not require a data warehouse or OLAP server and includes management tools for scalability and resource allocation, which allow customers to optimize where analysis takes place: either by JasperServer (in-memory) or by the DBMS.

“We’re honored to be included in InfoWorld’s prestigious list of leading open source companies,” remarked Jaspersoft CEO Brian Gentile. ” Jaspersoft continuously works to enhance open source BI offerings that address the growing needs of customers facing competitive environments. We have committed ourselves to creating technology that is easily customized and highly functional because we know a smart BI strategy can power significant improvement in operations and growth. Receiving a Bossie Award is an excellent indication of achievement in our efforts.
