The market leader in open source business intelligence to power graphical reporting for NetBeans developers

2007 JAVAPOLIS CONFERENCE- ANTWERP, Belgium (December 12, 2007) –

JasperSoft Corporation, the market leader in open source business intelligence, today announced iReport, the world’s most popular open source graphical report and dashboard design tool, will now support the NetBeans(TM) 6.0 Integrated Development Environment (IDE) as a native plug-in. The NetBeans IDE is a modular, standards-based development environment. With iReport for NetBeans 6.0, NetBeans developers now have a native development environment for embeddable reporting for rich-client and web applications.

iReport for NetBeans can be deployed into custom desktop and web applications, and also JasperServer, an enterprise class, web based reporting server. This includes the creation of ad hoc and parameterized reports, pixel-perfect reports in a variety of formats (Open Document, PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and custom formats). iReport is powered by JasperReports, recognized last May at the annual Sun JavaOne conference with a Duke’s Choice award for the most influential open source Java technology-based application.

“JasperSoft is pleased to serve a rich, collaborative open source environment like the NetBeans community. This is a perfect example of why data-oriented IDEs will benefit from open source business intelligence,” said iReport founder and lead engineer for JasperSoft, Giulio Toffoli. “iReport will continue to expand its functionality through NetBeans community support. This happens quickly as there is no need to wait for large proprietary software companies to understand and evaluate how to best address the needs of both groups.”

“This is a win-win alliance for both JasperSoft and the NetBeans community,” said Kuldip Oberoi, Group Product Marketing Manager at Sun Microsystems. “NetBeans IDE 6.0 gains an outstanding visual report designer tool while JasperSoft, as a strategic partner, expands its access to the fast-growing, vibrant NetBeans community.”

JasperSoft joins the growing NetBeans Strategic Partner Program, serving over 500,000 participating developers in the netbeans.org project. Each month visitors from over 130 countries use and contribute to NetBeans.

Key Features with iReport for the NetBeans development environment include:
