Financial operations veteran Jim Johnson brings 23 years of experience to his new role
SAN FRANCISCO (March 31, 2011) – Jaspersoft, makers of the world’s most widely used business intelligence (BI) software, today announced the appointment of Jim Johnson as Senior Vice President of Finance & Operations and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this role, Jim will be responsible for financial planning, accounting, controls, legal and administrative matters, IT operations and internal systems. These heightened responsibilities and Jim’s senior level of experience will help ensure Jaspersoft continues to grow at a record pace and will allow the company to further its leadership position within the business intelligence market.
Jim started off his career at Sun Microsystems where he held multiple financial management positions during his 15 year tenure. He helped the company increase its annual revenue from $1 billion to nearly $20 billion when he left. After leaving Sun, Jim became the Senior Vice President of Finance at VERITAS Software where he led financial operations that helped grow the company from $1.6 billion to $2.1 billion in annual revenue. Most recently, Jim held other CFO roles at respected companies including MSC Software, a company specializing in simulation software that he helped restore to profitability and VGH, a private equity-owned company later sold to Electronic Arts (EA). Jim holds a BA from The University of Minnesota and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
