Jaspersoft Supports GlassFish Enterprise Server for Building and Deploying Applications and Services

SAN FRANCISCO (November 06, 2008) –

Jaspersoft, the world’s most widely deployed business intelligence (BI) software, today announced that the Jaspersoft Business Intelligence Suite is now certified for Sun GlassFish(TM) Enterprise Server, a low-cost, high-performance platform for developing and delivering Web applications and services. This certification expands Jaspersoft’s existing relationship with Sun, which has produced the popular iReport for NetBeans(TM) IDE ( Integrated Development Environment) and Jasper For MySQL(TM).

Jaspersoft makes this announcement on the heels of Sun’s introduction of GlassFish Enterprise Server v3 Prelude , a lightweight Web application server that is based on a modular OSGi architecture and is commercially supported by Su n. This new version includes a modular core, a Web and scripting container and an easy-to-use administration console, plus additional Web-tier features. Jaspersoft provides BI and application server technology to a variety of customers using Sun technology. Monolith Software Solutions’ customers i nclude the Taco Bell and KFC franchise companies .

“By using Jaspersoft with the GlassFish application server and MySQL, we get a very scalable solution that has exceeded all our expectations,” said Bruce Belvin, Monolith Software Solutions. “It’s important that our BI solution work naturally with other technologies and Jaspersoft never disappoints.”

“The GlassFish project is showing extraordinary feature and performance maturity in a very competitive application server space,” said Jose Morales, vice president of business development, Jaspersoft. “Sun is an important relationship for Jaspersoft. By certifying with the latest version of GlassFish Enterprise Server, we will continue to make good on our promise to bring BI to the masses.”

“Jaspersoft’s support of the GlassFish platform provides tremendous opportunity to our customers,” said Mark Herring, vice president of marketing, Software Infrastructure, Sun Microsystems. “Their solution running on Sun software provides a highly stable platform with business intelligence features supporting a broad set of environments from lightweight to mission critical.”

Jaspersoft has a long history with Sun. In August, Jaspersoft announced that the iReport graphical development tool had been ported to NetBeans IDE. The iReport plug-in continues to be the most popular download in the NetBeans community. In addition, Jaspersoft introduced Jasper For MySQL , the optimized version of the Jaspersoft BI suite that Sun’s database group has licensed for its OEM business.
